Award-Winning Ducis & Everleigh Village Show – 13th September 2014

The Award-Winning Ducis and Everleigh Village Show (DEVS) is run by a Showteam of enthusiastic people from the Parishes of Collingbourne Ducis and Everleigh which nestle in Northeast Wiltshire on the edge of Salisbury Plain. The Showteam is aided by volunteers from neighbouring villages, local clubs, societies and organisations. This year's show information is once again available on-line on our web site at www.devshow.co.uk. In May 2011 the Show was awarded the Tesco Prize for Fundraising in the Tidworth Area Community Awards for their outstanding work in raising over £7500 in the two years 2009 and 2010. The Committee plans to continue their excellent work this year in providing another great day out for all the family and to raise funds again for the local community, charities and the church.

The Show, as in previous years, will take place in the Collingbourne Ducis Village Hall and Recreation Grounds and will begin with the Show doors opening at 12.30pm and the official Opening at 1.00pm. The proceeds from the Show will be divided amongst Clubs, Societies and Organisations involved with the Show, the church and locally active charities namely Wiltshire Air Ambulance and The Link Scheme.

The Show Opening will be hosted by Jim Plenderleith accompanied by a special guest. Our MC for the day is our old friend Baz Riley from Castledown Radio.

The Showteam leaders, Richard Carter and Jane Crook, said: "Following the last five very successful shows we are aiming once again to arrange an afternoon which will provide fun, entertainment and something of interest to everyone. There will also be all the drama and excitement of the DEVS Donkey Derby, Pipers from 19 Regt Royal Artillery, an ensemble from Test Valley Brass, Children's Activities and a display of Vintage and Classic Motors including tractors." In addition there will be Trade Stalls, the ever popular Cake, Bottle and Book Stalls and probably the best cream Teas in the county!"

Other main attractions during the day will be the Flower and Produce Show organised by the Collingbournes and Everleigh Gardening Club and the ever-popular Fun Dog Show organised on behalf of the committee by Irene de Maid Groves.

Refreshments and a Licensed Bar will be available outside throughout the event, while outstandingly good cream teas will be available in the Village Hall to the accompaniment of musical entertainment. The Donkey Derby, Fun Dog Show and the Flower and Produce Show schedules are available on-line on our web site.
